Located along the edge of Biscayne Bay, the Deering Estate, home of Charles Deering,  is an environmental, archaeological and historic preserve that offers unique opportunities to experience Florida’s pine rockland habitat, rare native plants and diverse wildlife.
Diverse activities include: Daily tours of Deering home, hikes through the lush 444-acre natural areas,  examine fossils, Eco-Adventure canoe trips to Chicken Key offshore, boat cruises, concerts, art exhibits, annual Seafood Festival, films, and theater.
Charles Deering, brother of James Deering (Vizcaya) was chairman of what became International Harvester, and a connoisseur and art patron. He amassed over 4,000 art pieces that included Spanish masters.  The Estate became part of the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department, which manages the property on behalf of the State of Florida.

HOURS: Daily 10am – 4pm

ADMISSION: Adult $12; Child (4-14) $7
